About This Site

Why "...with Love... (& Frustration)"? The name came about because things you make yourself are usually done with love whether it will eventually be given as a gift to another person or is just for you. Sometimes when creating these handmade items, there's a point where you just can't get something right or can't understand how to do it—that's where the frustration part comes in. I'm sure everyone has felt this at one time or another!

With that said, the main purpose of this site is as a gallery of my handcrafted items, either completed or in-progress, made with care and hard work. In addition to that, I've also included a small resource list to help those who are interested start learning how to hand knit, since I learned by myself and want to share some useful information. Also, there is a link list of various resource sites for those individuals who are interested in crafting and knitting.

I hope you find this site enjoyable!

About Me

I've had an interest in crafts and have been making them since I was a child. I remember going to the library at 8-years-old to find arts and crafts books to borrow. Some of the first things I made were little animal puppets and stuffed toys made of felt, some of which I still have today. Since then I have made many different things, from ornaments to rugs to clothing. As of late, my hobby of creating handmade things has gone more towards hand knitting, which I learned back in 2002, but I still find the occasional moment to make the typical craft items.

Since crafts and arts go hand-in-hand, I also have an interest in art. The drawing of the pincushion in this site's masthead is part of piece of artwork I drew myself. It has been several years since I've done any traditional fine arts projects (i.e., drawings, paintings), but I still enjoy looking at other people's work. My favorite exhibits to view include work that serves a function or purpose, such as furniture and accessories or clothing and textiles, and, of course, craft items!
